Successful Conclusion of the 6th Traditional Chinese Medicine Workshop for Medical Professionals from Countries along the Belt and Road

  Shanghai, November 3, 2023 — The 6th Traditional Chinese Medicine Workshop for Medical Professionals from Countries along the Belt and Road, organized by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and hosted by Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, successfully concluded at the International Education College, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.


  Commencing on October 16, 2023, the seminar, conducted online, attracted 310 participants from 20 countries and regions. This marks the sixth edition of the seminar hosted by Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine since its initiation in 2017.

  The seminar primarily adopted online teaching methods, featuring synchronous live broadcasts in five languages: Chinese, English, French, Japanese, and Korean. The program encompassed thematic lectures, clinical presentations, virtual tours, practice of traditional exercises, and cultural exchanges.


  The three major highlights included academic lectures where experts shared research findings and practical experiences, virtual on-site visits offering insights into the operation of Chinese medicine hospitals, and cross-border interactive exchanges facilitating collaboration in the international medical field.

  During the closing ceremony, Quyen Hoang Lam from Vietnam, representing the participants, shared his experiences and gratitude for the opportunity to engage with Chinese medicine experts. Participants from the United Kingdom, France, the United States, and other countries expressed enhanced interest in learning Chinese medicine and understanding Chinese culture, anticipating future seminars.

  The organizing committee expressed gratitude for the participants' efforts over the past three weeks and extended invitations for next year's offline seminar. The project aims to facilitate academic exchanges and cooperation among medical professionals from "Belt and Road" countries, contributing to the global dissemination of Traditional Chinese Medicine.


  This online seminar has deepened international participants' understanding of Chinese medicine, fostered friendships, and laid the foundation for future collaborations in the medical field. Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine remains committed to promoting international cooperation in Traditional Chinese Medicine, providing more opportunities for academic exchange among high-level medical professionals from "Belt and Road" countries.
