Overseas students from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine showed off their martial arts skills at a traditional Chinese exercises competition in the school on April 11.

As an annual school tradition encouraging students to actively participate in physical training, this year’s competition was attended by 32 teams of undergraduates, graduates and foreign students.

A team of six Malaysian students took the second prize at the Women's Baduanjin, a fitness exercise with a history of over 800 years, which is easy to get a hold of and can be practiced by people of all ages.

Chen Yurong (Chinese name) from Germany impressed the spectators with her tai chi skills in fan and sword playing, and was titled two first places. Zhou Anrong (Chinese name) from the US also won the first prize at the Men's Shadow Boxing.

The competition was held at the campus for the eighth time, providing a platform to practice Chinese exercises and learn Chinese culture for students from home and abroad.
