Articles of Prof. Xu Hongxi’s research team published in Autophagy

On February 15, 2014, Prof. Xu Hongxi’s research paper titled the natural compound oblongifolin C inhibits autophagicflux and enhances antitumor efficacy of nutrient deprivation was accepted and published by Autophagy, a renowned peer-reviewed scientific international journal covering all aspects of autophagy (IF: 12.042 in 2012).

Led by Prof. Xu Hongxi from the School of Chinese Materia Medica, other research staff includes Lao Zhiyuan (a doctoral students), Liu Zhenyan, Xu Danqing (both Master’s degree students), Wang Xiaoyu (postdoctoral research fellow) and the team of associate professor Xu Naihan from Tsinghua University Shenzhen Graduate School. This study was founded by the National Natural Science Foundation and Shanghai Education Commission. This research finding has provided significant scientific basis for R&D of new anti-tumor Chinese medicine.

As a high-reputation researcher, Prof. Xu Hongxi has long been dedicated to studieson active components of Chinese medicine for anti-virus, anti-tumor and prevention and treatment of diabetes as well as pharmacodynamics evaluation. Over the recent years, Prof. Xu and his team have published high-quality research papers in international journals such as Autophagy, Diabetes, Journal ofHepatology, International Journal of Cancer, Proteomics, Journal of Proteomics,Current Medicinal Chemistry and Organic Letter.
